Facilities

West Ridge Care Center is a 58-bed licensed Skilled Nursing facility and private pay care center. Our Foyer Level accomodates 28-30 Elders for either skilled nursing care (SNF) or intermediate care (ICF). Our Courtyard Level accommodates 13 Elders for either SNF or ICF and 15 Elders on a secure dementia unit. We have 26 private rooms on each floor and two rooms on the Foyer Level that are currently suites. Our rooms have private half baths.

West Ridge is a privately owned, single entity facility. It was the first free-standing facility in the state of Iowa designed specifically for the care and treatment of Elders with dementia. West Ridge is one of the few local care centers to continue to provide a secure unit setting for people with dementia. This ensures safety and provides the Elder with a sense of belonging. The building surrounds a recently remodeled outdoor courtyard for use by our Elders with dementia. Our adjacent park, complete with paved walkways and benches, is also available for use by our Elders and their families. West Ridge is the only registered Eden Alternative facility in the Cedar Rapids area.

West Ridge became a skilled nursing facility in 2005. Please click on the Rehabilitation Services link to see more details about our Rehab program. We are dedicated to the care of our Elders who wish to return to their home or a lesser level of care. Our Therapy department provides quality assessments and therapy programs designed to get our Elders back to their homes as soon as it is medically and physically safe to do so.
